Deep beneath the ruins of a capital city constantly devastated by some apocalypse or another, writers Brandon Crilly and Evan May have hatched a plan to keep themselves entertained. Mostly it involves a revolving door of other creatives, talking shop about their work, the stories they love, and enough tangents to forget the world outside.

YOUR HOSTS
Frequently at odds with the tiny robots who clean the bunker and laugh at him behind his back, Brandon Crilly has been writing and sending his work out to the world since 2010, first with literary fiction before settling firmly in SFF. His short fiction has been published by Daily Science Fiction, Abyss & Apex, PULP Literature, On Spec, and elsewhere. His first comic, “True Balance,” appeared in Flip: Volume 2 from Markosia Press and he has also published non-fiction with THIS Magazine.
Brandon also reviews fiction and interviews fellow creatives for BlackGate.com and serves as one of the Programming Leads for Can*Con, Ottawa’s annual conference for science fiction, fantasy and horror writers. He denies that he is the Tony Stark to Evan May’s one-armed robotic helper, and is sure that if he ever ventured outside the bunker, he would surely die.
You can find Brandon’s work at brandoncrilly.wordpress.com or by following him on Twitter: @B_Crilly.
Now trapped in a hermetically sealed bunker and surrounded by technology he has no idea how to operate, Evan May is trying to find a sense of zen about it all. Evan has been writing SFF since at least Grade 2, when he wrote about his own death in a space battle instead of doing math exercises. Since then, Evan’s first two novels, The King in Darkness and Bonhomme Sept-Heures, have been published by Ottawa’s Renaissance Press, and he continues to create strange imaginary people and things.
Evan also blogs at emaymustgo.wordpress.com, commits Twitter @GiantTourtiere, and is the other Programming Lead for Can*Con, Ottawa’s annual conference for writers and readers of SF, fantasy, and horror. Evan is pretty sure he shouldn’t have pressed that button a minute ago, but is equally sure that Brandon will handle it.

Our intro and outro music for Broadcasts is an excerpt from “Ode to Sunshine” by Chris Kesner, from his album Know Thyself.

Beginning on classical guitar, Chris swiftly moved to electric and acoustic, and found a real passion towards emotionally potent guitar playing combined with technical prowess. Kesner first played live at thirteen; by fourteen, he was in a band, and was signed to an independent label by sixteen. He is now a teacher of guitar and his main focus is on performance with his band, Raw Sugar, and developing content for YouTube about guitar equipment.
